Secretary Rosalin Acosta
Secretary, Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development

Rosalin Acosta is the newly appointed Secretary of Labor and Workforce Development. Prior to joining the Baker-Polito Administration she was a widely respected financial and banking service professional with over thirty years of experience in Greater Boston financial institutions, most recently as Senior Vice President and Managing Director for Enterprise Wealth Management at Enterprise Bank in Lowell, where she oversaw the operations of the bank’s Wealth Management and Brokerage divisions since 2013. Secretary Acosta has also worked in senior executive roles at TD Bank and Sovereign Bank (now Santander). She has served in many community and civic capacities, including as a Board Member of The Boston Foundation, a Board Overseer at Boston Children’s Hospital since 2009, where she was a founding member of Milagros Para Ninos, and a 14-year Member of the Boston Chapter of the Association of Latino Professionals For America (ALPFA). Acosta was a Director and Planning Member of the Merrimack Valley Workforce Investment Board and was appointed a Northern Essex Community College Trustee by Governor Baker in 2016. Secretary Acosta has been named one of Boston’s Most Influential Women by the Women of Harvard Club in 2014, where she serves on the Leadership Committee, and El Planeta’s Top 100 Most Influential Hispanics in Massachusetts for three consecutive years. Born in Cuba, she earned a Bachelor of Arts from Wesleyan University in Connecticut where she was a member of the Women’s Varsity Ice Hockey Team. She is the proud mother of five children and an avid traveler, runner and cyclist.

 


Alex Dixon
General Manager
MGM Springfield

Alex humbly serves as the General Manager of MGM Springfield Casino Resort Spa in Springfield, Massachusetts where he’s responsible for day-to-day operations at the $950M resort. Immediately prior to joining MGM, Alex served as the Vice President and Assistant General Manager of Horseshoe Casino Baltimore with Caesars Entertainment. During his nine-year career with Caesars he served in a number of capacities including: corporate VP & Executive Associate to the President of Shared Services Division, corporate Director of Enterprise Effectiveness and property Director of Planning & Analysis. While Director of Enterprise Effectiveness, he managed the restructuring and reorganization of the enterprise (Project Renewal). Prior to joining Caesars, Alex worked as an investment banker focusing on mergers and acquisitions with Goldman Sachs and Silver Pacific Advisors in cities including: New York, London and Los Angeles. Alex’s significant transaction experience includes the $638M IPO of Jackson Hewitt and Disney’s $7.5B acquisition of Pixar. In Las Vegas, Alex served as the Treasurer of Habitat for Humanity Las Vegas, former President of the Las Vegas Urban League Young Professionals and was appointed by the Clark County Commission to serve on the Committee on Community Priorities. In Baltimore, Alex served on the boards of MedStar Harbor Hospital, Associated Black Charities, Local Development Council and Pig Town Main Street. Alex is a principal in Confess Media and Snap Guru a photography and amateur photography software companies respectively based in Las Vegas, NV. In 2003, Alex was awarded a BBA in finance from Howard University in Washington D.C. A native of Las Vegas, Alex is the husband of Yindra Dixon and proud father of Alex Jr. and twins Parker and Peyton.
