Opening Doors to Opportunity: 10 years and Counting!
We are celebrating the 10th year of the Sharing Skills~Building Connections conference which is designed to provide you with the opportunity to enhance your workforce programs and practices; build connections across the range of provider systems; share skills and experiences; and equip you to better provide employment services to thousands of underemployed and unemployed people moving towards economic stability. Even in tough times, we can open doors to opportunity for our clients. We can do this by working collaboratively, integrating service delivery, and aligning workforce training and education with employer need. Sharing Skills~Building Connections seeks to provide you with the information, tools, and connections needed to do just that.
We are pleased to welcome three Massachusetts’ Secretaries to participate in a panel discussion highlighting the work the three offices are doing to develop a workforce pipeline aligned with labor market demands.
Secretary Gregory Bialecki, Executive Office of Housing and Economic Development, oversees the Commonwealth’s business development, housing and community development, and consumer affairs and business regulation agencies.
Secretary Joanne F. Goldstein, Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development, oversees the Commonwealth’s five labor and workforce regulatory agencies: the Departments of Unemployment Assistance, Career Services, Labor Standards, Industrial Accidents, and Labor Relations.
Secretary Matthew Malone, Secretary of Education as of December 2012, directs the Executive Office of Education and works closely with the Commonwealth’s education agencies – Department of Early Education and Care, Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Department of Higher Education and the University of Massachusetts system.
